The Ministry of Health
(MINSA) launched today the National Vaccination campaign, in which vaccines,
vitamins and anti-parasitic will be applied to children, the elderly and
pregnant women.
The authorities of
MINSA intend to apply one million 148 thousand 491 vaccines, to administer one
million 70 thousand 967 doses of anti-parasite and 744 thousand 746 doses of
vitamin A.
"During this day we will protect against
15 diseases: Tuberculosis, Polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Viral
Meningitis, Bacterial Meningitis, Viral Pneumonia, Bacterial Pneumonia, Serious
Diarrhea by Rotavirus, Measles, Rubiola and also Parontivitis" , Said the
head of Immunization of the MINSA, Dr. Martha Reyes.
The MINSA brigades will
carry out house-to-house visits, educational activities and vaccination posts
throughout the country.
This health campaign
will finish on the 5th of may.
